Driving women’s sport with The Wave Bristol

The wave is an inland “slice of the ocean” where people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities can experience the many health benefits and pure joy of being in the water and waves. Their team will work closely with Bristol City and Bristol Bears to enable women to get into football, rugby, surfing and bodyboarding, and embrace the ever-growing fanbases of both clubs.

Sarah Farrar, Commercial Director of Bristol Sport, said: “The partnership with The Wave is hugely exciting and will use the power of our sports group to increase women’s participation in a range of sports.

“In 2022, surfing was one of the fastest growing women’s activities and with the incredible growth of women’s football and rugby over the past 12 months, we are excited about the potential of this joint initiative.”

Suzanne Roper, Wave Commercial Manager, said: “We are delighted to partner with Bristol Sport to create a strategic marketing partnership.

“As organizations we believe in the power of sport for good and enabling more women and girls to access the activities we love is at the heart of what we do.

“Working together makes perfect sense! We look forward to creating not only a fun partnership for female players, but one that will also embrace the clubs’ fan base, empower women and increase women’s participation in sport.
