Simone Biles took part in Team USA’s first rotation in vaulting in the women’s Olympic team final, coming out of her Amanar and scoring a 13.766 for a 1.5 spin. Shortly after, she withdrew from the team competition.


Americans held scoreless by Australia in the group stage final

The United States Women’s National Team recorded a scoreless draw against Australia in the last of three Olympic group stage matches. The result was enough to qualify for the round of 16.


Parratto and Schnell win silver in synchro for first American medal

The American pair of Jessica Parratto and Delaney Schnell executed their list of five confidently to win silver in the women’s 10m synchronized platform. It was the first US medal of any color in the event.


Lydia Jacoby of Alaska wins gold in 100th place beats King

The gold medal in the women’s 100m breaststroke remains in the hands of the Americans, but not those expected. Reigning Olympic champion Lilly King was shy behind Alaskan teenager Lydia Jacoby in a surprise arrival.
