Try a new sport at the Rockingham Summer Sports Promotion Day

Residents will have the opportunity to get active and try out a new sport during the Town of Rockingham’s 2022 Summer Sports Promotion Day.

The free event will take place at the Mike Barnett Sports Complex on Sunday, August 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Participants will be able to meet representatives of local sports clubs who will give demonstrations to present their respective sports codes.

Visitors can get in on the action and find out what sport they would like to play this summer.

Mayor Deb Hamblin encouraged community members to join in the fun and learn more about how they can get involved in their local community.

Sports and recreation play an important role in developing positive physical and mental health outcomes, and Summer Sports Promotion Day 2022 offers participants the opportunity to engage in a variety of codes. athletes,” said Mayor Hamblin.

“With 16 different clubs and sports organizations involved in the event, there will be something for everyone.”
